Storms may occur in several parts of Slovakia. This was pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) on its website. For Banská Bystrica, Košice, Nitriansky, Prešov and Žilina regions, it issued first -level warnings with preliminary validity from 13.00 to 21.00.

In individual districts, meteorologists expect storms with a sharp downpour with intensity up to 40 millimeters per minute, with wind impacts 65 kilometers per hour and with hail. “The intensity of accompanying phenomena is common at a given time of year and area, but can cause less damage. Human activities and endangered health may be limited in thunderstorms”Said SHMI.
