Representatives of Hungary and Austria emphasized the need for peace, stopping migration and respect for EU Member States’ sovereignty.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accepted the chairman of the Austrian National Council Walter Rosenkranz on Tuesday in Budapest. Referring to the MTI, TASR reports in Budapest.
MTI recalls that Rosenkranz is a member of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ), which won parliamentary elections last September.
Impact of Ukraine’s entry
In addition to bilateral issues, politicians also dealt with the impact of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union on Austria and Hungary, including risks to security, economy and agriculture.
“Former excellent relations between Hungary and Austria can continue smoothly,” said Kövér, chairman of the Hungarian Parliament Hungarian Parliament after a meeting with Rosenkranz. He recalled that both Parliament Presidents of Austria and Hungary again belong to one party family. Rosenkranz elected chairman as a member of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ), who won the election. In addition, FPÖ and Fidesz created a party group Patriots for Europe in the European Parliament.
