The young Australian phenomenon of speed, Gout Gout, gave again – and rightly. At the age of 17, the athlete was the highlight of Stawell Gift, one of Australia’s most traditional races, where he surprised everything and everyone by winning the race departing 20 meters behind the other competitors.
Despite the enormous disadvantage, Gout completed the 120 meters in just 12.31 seconds, demonstrating a stunning speed and, according to those who watched, still margin in the final meters, as if controlling the effort.
Their recent views have fueled comparisons with the legendary Usain Bolt, a heavy pressure for any athlete, but the young man has dealt with apparent serenity and maturity.
This particular event, in addition to the sports show, had a strong solidarity aspect, making the performance of the prodigy even more memorable. With a promising future ahead, Gout Gout continues to assert himself as a close name in world athletics.
There’s a 17-year-old kid in Australia, named Gout Gout, who has run 100m in 9.99 seconds, and 200m in 19.84 seconds.
He is considered to have as much potential as Usain Bolt, and will probably be an Olympic champion one day.
Here’s some absolutely crazy footage of him today…
