Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjuahu on Wednesday on the occasion of the Day of Holocaust Monument called Iran an existential threat and warned that the fate of humanity would be endangered if Tehran gets nuclear weapons. He compared the members of the Palestinian movement Hamas to “Nazis like Hitler”. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.
“The Iranian regime is a threat to our destiny, for our existence and for the fate of all humanity,” said Netanyahu in Jerusalem during the opening speech on the occasion of the Day of the Holocaust Monument. In Israel, on this day, they commemorate the events of World War II, which led to the death of six million Jews. They commemorate the holiday in the country every year in April or May, according to the Jewish calendar, although it is internationally on 27 January.
“This will happen if it gets nuclear weapons. If we lose this struggle, the West’s countries will be next,” the Prime Minister said. “Israel will not lose, leave and not give up,” added.
In his speech, Netanyahu also spoke of the Hamas Palestinian movement and compared his members to the Nazis. “They want to kill and destroy all the Jews. Openly they talk about their goal to destroy the Jewish state, but that will not happen,” The Prime Minister said.
Netanyahu in his speech referred to the indirect negotiations of the United States and Iran on Tehran nuclear program. Western countries have long accused Iran for trying to get nuclear weapons. However, Tehran denies these allegations and says its nuclear program that it is only intended for civilian purposes.
The New York Times reported last week that US President Donald Trump is discouraging Tel Aviv from a missile attack on Iranian nuclear buildings on the grounds that he wanted to try the diplomatic journey first. Netanyahu then warned that even if Washington continued to talk to Iran, Israel Tehran would never allow a nuclear weapon.
