United Nations Secretary-General António Guterrez said China President Xi Jinping said for the first time that it will reduce the emission of all greenhouse gases and in all economic sectors during a meeting of the virtual summit on climate ambition. The meeting had 17 heads of state. In addition to China, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, participated.

Until then, China had not brought major signs about the nationally determined contribution, known for the NDC acronym, which deals with the cut -out commitments in the emission of greenhouse gases for each country.

Guterrez also stated that, within COP30, world leaders need to present a “reliable script” to mobilize $ 1.3 trillion a year for developing countries by 2035.
