Former NHS executive director Fernando Araújo warns that pregnant women are at risk due to the closing of obstetrics. The government guarantees that the scenario is identical to last year’s, but Fernando Araújo insists that in this Easter they end twice the birth blocks.
For a year, Fernando Araújo says he avoided even appearing in public not to interfere. But the former SNS executive director, who on April 23, 2024 resigned because he understood that the PSD did not want him in office, says now there is no doubt that the government has given up on the National Health Service.
“This Easter is a good example, the next weekend will be another good example and the risk of something that runs very badly is high,” he warns.
The minister guarantees that the number is “Exactly the same as last year”but Fernando Araújo insists, underlining that this Easter there was the “Double of closed delivery blocks”.
“We have areas of the country where there is no response for hundreds of kilometers,” he laments.
Fernando Araújo is now a candidate for the PS. In the interview he gave to Antena 1, he does not say that the goal is to be minister, only that he intends to be where to miss the NHS.
