Under the suspicion of deviations of more than R $ 6.3 billion from the (National Institute of Social Security) through discounts associated with retirement and pensions that were not authorized, the two main targets of the operation without discount, carried out on Wednesday (23), by the general controllership of the Union, are the president of the body, Alessandro Stefanutto and the director of benefits and relationship with the citizen, Vanderlei Barbosa dos Santos.
Stefanutto assumed the presidency of the INSS in 2023. Before, he headed the board of budget, finance, bidding, contracts and engineering. During the transition, he actively participated in the pension. He has been working in the agency since 2000. Between 2011 and 2017, he had been prominent as the Attorney General of the municipality. He also represented the INSS as a counselor in the insurance box. Stefanutto only assumed the maximum position after the predecessor, Glauco Wamburg, was also dismissed for alleged irregular use of passages and daily paid by the government. He joined the institution in 2006 as a social insurance technician. In the curriculum presented on digital platforms, Vanderlei says he has been in various management positions, such as head of service, executive manager and coordination at the INSS.
About 700 federal police officers and 80 CGU servants meet 211 search and seizure warrants, sequestration orders of more than R $ 1 billion and six temporary arrest warrants in the Federal District and 13 states: Alagoas, Amazonas, Ceará, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul and Sergipe.
