The agency, which is linked to the Ministry of Management, also says that it supports the change since it will occur by the will of residents and “without police force intervention.”
The government of São Paulo claimed the land to the union for the purpose of building a park and sent, this month, a resettlement plan for favela residents.
The SPU, however, says that there is no forecast for the assignment of the land, because “information is not clear about the effective address and the delivery time of these units” and, thus, requested adjustments and complementary information about the relocation.
“SPU also awaits the delivery of the detail of the project to be implemented in the area by the Government of SP, so that the destination instrument to be used to be defined,” says the federal agency.
“Only after this agreement will it be possible to advance the administrative procedures to formalize the assignment contract,” he concludes.
