Tesla () CEO, said the new ones impacted the production of those of the company. During the Tesla’s teleconference on the financial results on Tuesday (22), Musk pointed out that the company is working together with the Chinese government to resolve the issue and expects to obtain approval to access these critical components.
The restrictions, imposed earlier this month, affect seven elements of rare land and magnets used in various industries, including defense, energy and automotive technologies.
According to Musk, China requires guarantees that magnets will not be used for military purposes, a concern that it has ensured no foundation, since components are intended exclusively for humanoid robots.
The new rules require exporters of rare land and high size to obtain licenses from the China Ministry of Commerce, increasing the risk of global scarcity of these materials.
China’s dominance in the rare land market is a growing concern, especially for the United States, which are not yet prepared to supply a possible lack of these resources. The Trump administration is already studying the imposition of new rates on all critical mineral imports in response to Chinese restrictions.
Musk emphasized the importance of Tesla’s humanoid robots, stating that the company plans to produce about 5,000 units this year, with many being used in the company’s electric vehicle factories.

Although Musk has ensured that Tesla still follows to produce thousands of robots in 2025, uncertainty about export restrictions can impact these plans.
