Tesla () CEO, he announced that the time he dedicates to the Trump government’s Efficiency Department will be reduced “significantly” from May, during a company teleconference on Tuesday (22).
Musk said he will continue to support US President “to ensure that the waste and fraud we can stop do not come back in full force.”
He said he will continue to dedicate “one day or two a week” to US government issues “for the time the president wants me to do that.”
Musk’s comments came after, including a 20% drop in revenue over the previous year.
In addition to the challenges that the company was already facing before Trump’s inauguration, such as an aged fleet of electric vehicles, Tesla’s image was affected by protests in US and European stores, as well as criticism of Musk’s ties with the US president and support to the AFD party in Germany.
“The demonstrations you see out there are very organized,” said Musk in the teleconference.

He said, without evidence, that some people are probably protesting “because they are receiving money from fraud.”
