The PDT was betting on president removed from the (National Institute of Social Security), as one of the main names to run for federal deputy for São Paulo in the 2026 elections. The party seeks voting handles for the election.
Stefanutto was after the operation of and CGU (Comptroller General of the Union) to combat a national scheme of associative discounts not authorized in retirement and pensions.
He was affiliated to the PSB, but in February this year, he exchanged the party for the PDT, which has Minister Carlos Lupi (Social Security) in the national executive. Stefanutto even attended meetings of the executive to join the party more.
Ironically, the idea was to use his projection at the head of the Institute as the Electoral Flag, with the argument that he modernized the INSS and fought fraud. Despite this, the line to obtain the benefit has grown in his management, and goes from 2 million people.
Party members say it is still possible to launch the president removed from the INSS as a federal deputy, as long as he can prove his innocence until next year.
Stefanutto was removed by omission in irregularities related to, especially pensions, granted by the INSS.
