The (Federal Highway Police) recorded 1,038 claims on Brazilian federal highways during the 5 days of 2025. Occurrences resulted in 1,198 people injured and 86 deaths.

According to a balance disclosed on Tuesday (22.br.2025), in Brasilia, 57,062 infractions were accounted for in the period. In all, 118,000 people and 96,000 vehicles were inspected throughout the country throughout the prolonged holiday.

“The statistics of the operation bring speeding, improper overtaking, non -use of the seat belt and the steering wheel alcoholing still as the irregular and dangerous conduct more committed by drivers on the holiday.”said the corporation in a note.

The States of Santa Catarina (145), Minas Gerais (118) and Paraná (110) occupy the first places in the ranking of claim.

Dangerous overtaking

Among the infractions are 4,875 improper overtaking and 3,999 cases where drivers/passengers stopped wearing a seat belt, plus 1,097 refusal to the alcohol consumption of the alcohol consumption and 73 people arrested for this reason.

PRF data also indicates 61,687 images captured of vehicles traveling above the speed limit.
