Attachment took place at Caxemira, an area in dispute with Pakistan; Indian Prime Minister condemned “heinous act”
An attack on fire this Tuesday (22.br.2025) left at least 26 tourists killed in a summer retreat from Pahalgam, in Caxemira, northern India.
The bombing was claimed by the “resistance of cashmira” group, contrary to the settlement of more than 85,000 Indians in the region, disputed by Pakistan.
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack, describing him as a “Heinous act”.
“Those responsible for this heinous act will be brought to justice … They will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our determination to combat terrorism is unshakable and will become even stronger,” Modi said in X (former Twitter).
The act happened a day after Modi meets with the vice president of the United States, Jd Vance, who is visiting the country. On social networks, the American also lamented the attacks.
“EWe teased our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. In recent days, we have been marveling at the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them [as vítimas]”said Jd Vance.
Caxemira has faced conflicts since 1989, with local militant groups seeking independence or integration to Pakistan.
