The president said on Tuesday (22) that the international trade policy adopted by the United States is neither good for Americans nor “nowhere in the world.”
Lula also defended, in statements when he arrived at Itamaraty for a lunch with the president of Chile, the importance of multilateralism and the need to sit at the table to negotiate “as hard as it may be.”

Lula’s statements take place in a scenario in which the US President has been imposing import tariffs on other countries, including Brazil and especially on China.
Shortly before, at Planalto Palace, Lula said he does not want Brazil to be involved in a new cold war and have to choose between the United States or China.
Lula had also said that Brazil has to assume the role of inductor given its importance and size in Latin America.
