A (FDA in the English acronym), under the state of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., will take steps to eliminate synthetic dyes by the end of 2026, FDA commissioner Marty Makary said at a press conference.
The agency will establish a standard and schedule for the industry to change to natural alternatives, revoke authorization to non -production dyes in the coming weeks and will take steps to remove the remaining dyes in the market.
“In the last 50 years, we have been performing one of the largest untt controlled scientific experiences in the world with the children of our country without their consent,” Makary said.
FDA has argued that approved dyes are safe and that “all scientific evidence shows that most children have no adverse effects when consuming foods that contain color additives.”
