According to CGU and PF, the damage caused by improper discounts of associative tuition in the benefits of retirees and pensioners is estimated at R $ 6.3 billion, between 2019 and 2024
The Attorney General of the Union () instituted on Wednesday (23) a special group to seek the reparation of damage caused by fraudulent actions against the National Institute of Social Security (). The team will also be responsible for promoting the recovery of irregularly discounted amounts of retirees and pensioners, insured from the General Social Security Regime (RGPS).
Consisting of eight lawyers and public lawyers, the collective will be temporary and its performance will take place in the administrative (extrajudicial) and judicial areas regarding the matter. Members will be designated by the AGU Superior Board: Federal Attorney General (PGF) and the Union General Consulting (CGU).
The group’s priority objective is to immediately adopt administrative and judicial measures to obtain the reparation of heritage damage caused by the entities investigated by the Union Comptroller General (CGU) and the Federal Police (PF) in the course of operation “without discount”. According to information released by CGU and PF, the damage caused by improper discounts on associative tuition in the benefits of retirees and pensioners is estimated at R $ 6.3 billion, between 2019 and 2024.
“The AGU will work firmly to keep INSS’s ability to promote the social protection of citizens and to ensure the income of workers in vulnerable situations,” says Union attorney General Jorge Messias. “The Brazilian state, retirees and pensioners were injured by this scheme. So we will also seek the responsibility of the entities that promoted the illegal discounts and recover every diverted penny,” he adds.
