Text provides for prohibition of contact with minors and transfer of data to security agencies, justice and prosecutors
The Public Security Committee approved a bill that creates a national register with data from people convicted by. The goal is to reinforce the protection of minors and prevent convicted by this type of crime from performing activities involving contact with children and adolescents. The registration will be managed by the Executive Power and will have the collaboration of the Public Security Secretariats of the States, the Public Prosecution Service and the Judiciary.
The rapporteur of the bill, Deputy (PL-SC), stressed that the measure represents an advance in the fight against serious crimes. “It’s an extra tool to protect children and adolescents,” he said. The project will also be analyzed by the pension, social assistance, childhood, adolescence and family committees; and constitution and justice and citizenship. The proposal is on a conclusive basis and, if approved in these instances, will go straight to the Senate.
