Under new management of SAF, the club faces total debt increase to R $ 1.2 billion, despite the growth in revenues

Cruzeiro, now under the management of SAF (Society of Football) led by Pedro Lourenço, released his financial balance of 2024. The publication was made on Wednesday (23.br.2025). The report released showed a loss of $ 170 million in the last year.

The club’s total debt reached R $ 1.2 billion, showing an increase compared to 2023. Most of this debt, approximately R $ 975 million, is long term. Short -term assets were reported at $ 336 million.

The financial report shows a significant growth in spending on the football department, which more than doubled from 2023 to 2024, from R $ 94.709 million to R $ 200.305 million. This increase in costs, despite representing an effort to strengthen the cast, contributed to the worsening of the financial situation.

On the other hand, Cruzeiro registered an increase in revenues, which rose from $ 226 million by 2023 to $ 308 million in 2024. This growth came from various sources, such as the partner-owner program, box office, sponsorship, advertising and transmission rights. However, the increase in revenue was not enough to cover high costs, especially in the football department.

The club also emphasized the transfer of R $ 37.5 million, which includes payments to creditors, lawyers, the judicial administrator and judicial agreements. This amount is higher than the R $ 16.4 million passed on in 2023.
