The president (PT) accepted on Wednesday (23) the name of the president of Telebras, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, as the new minister of communications. The nomination took place at a meeting with the president of, (-ap), and with the party leader in the House, Pedro Lucas Fernandes (MA).
The expectation is that the formalization of the name will occur until this Thursday (24). This choice came after Pedro Luke refused Lula’s invitation 12 days after he was announced as Minister by the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann (PT).
The episode with the party generated a public embarrassment to the federal government, exposing difficulties from the Planalto in the political articulation and the fragility of its base of support.
Alcolumbre told Lula as early as Tuesday night (22) that he would indicate a name considered of technical profile for the position, without party affiliation and his close relationship of trust.
Throughout this Wednesday, Alcolumbre allies said that the tendency was for the parliamentarian to indicate a name from Telebras, which is linked to the communications portfolio.
Siqueira Filho is also an ally of the Senate Union leader, Efraim Filho (PB), and was taken to the state -owned company by indicating alcohubre, according to reports from the senator’s allies.
On Wednesday afternoon, Siqueira Filho met with the President of the Republic in the Planalto Palace. Pedro Lucas and Alcolumbre also attended the meeting.
The command of the Ministry of Communications had been vague since last day 8, when the then Minister (Brazil-MA Union) left the post after (Attorney General’s Office) on charges.
