After refusal of Pedro Lucas, the nomination of the president of Telebras was made by União Brasil and captained by the chief of Senate, David Alcolumbre
The President (PT) announced on Thursday (24.br.2025) that the new Minister of Communications will be the president of, Frederico de Siqueira Filho. The nomination was made by União Brasil and led by the president of the Senate, (União Brasil-AP). The engineer has already been appointed and sworn in.
Siqueira Filho was the favorite to take command of the agency after the federal deputy (União Brasil-MA) the invitation of the chief executive.
The deputy had been nominated to replace (Brazil-MA Union), which because of the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) against him, for misuse of parliamentary amendments.

Who is Frederico de Siqueira Filho
The president of Telebras holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UPE (University of Pernambuco) and has 26 years of professional experience in the telecommunications sector.
He spent 21 years of his career at Oi, being head of operations, planning, institutional, regulatory and commercial. It began in 1997 as Technical Engineering Coordinator at Autelserv Telecommunications. Occupied for 10 years the Directorate of Institutional Relations of Oi Brasil.
He has been at the head of Telebras since April 2024 and has a mandate until the same month of 2026. The state company is publicly open and is linked to the Ministry of Communications.
Refusal by Pedro Lucas
