President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva appointed and inaugurated Frederico de Siqueira Filho in the position of Minister of Communications on Thursday morning (24).
Frederico drove to Telebrás and his nomination by União Brasil was presented to President Lula by Senate President David Alcolumbre, former Minister Juscelino Filho and União Brasil leader Pedro Lucas Fernandes, in a meeting held on Wednesday (23) at the Planalto Palace.
Yesterday’s meeting was also attended by the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann.
Siqueira Filho has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pernambuco and has a technical profile, with a professional career in the area. According to Telebras, it has over 26 years of experience in the Telecommunications and Information Technology sector, 21 of them dedicated to Oi.
During this time, he held leadership positions in sectors such as operations, planning, institutional and commercial regulatory. In addition, according to information from the agency, Siqueira has knowledge in administration, political sciences, communication and in various areas of management, including crisis management, third parties and projects.
The ministry command had been vacant for two weeks since April 8-when Juscelino Filho (Union-MA), now former minister, was denounced by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to the Supreme Court (STF) for alleged irregularities in amendments.

At first, the nomination of União Brasil was by Pedro Lucas Fernandes (MA), who rejected the invitation.
He had weighed on Pedro Lucas’s permanence the climate of instability in the party if he opened the current position in the Legislative House and doubt within the subtitle itself whether the government should be closer to the government.
