It launched, on Wednesday (24), Operation Cessatio, to dismantle criminal groups designed to Venezuelans in Roraima.
The aid is paid monthly by the (National Institute of Social Security) to the elderly from 65 years or people with disabilities of any age who meet the requirements provided for in the LOAS (Organic Social Assistance Law).
Police explained that the performance of several organized and independent criminal groups was identified, which obtained the benefit in a fraudulent way.
According to investigations, agent co -opted Venezuelan elderly in Venezuela, falsified documents and registrations to ensure access to the BPC.
After that, many returned to the country of origin, but continued to receive the benefit irregularly.
14 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled in the cities of Boa Vista and Pacaraima, reaching eight investigated, including seven law firms.
According to the agency, the investigations originated from the dismemberment of information from Operation Ataktos, triggered in 2024, and complaints about beneficiaries that would not reside in Brazil.
The Federal Court ordered the blockade of assets and values of the investigated, totaling about R $ 16 million, and applied precautionary measures, such as the suspension of economic activities. Among those investigated is a retired Civil Police delegate, suspected of ensuring hundreds of irregular benefits.
This is the sixth PF operation in Roraima to combat fraud in granting the BPC. The investigated may be responsible for Majorado estelionate, criminal association and other crimes that arise in the course of findings.
