The senator (MDB-AL) said on Wednesday (23) that the government does not have a clear development plan to the country, but said it will be very difficult to defeat the president if he tries the reelection in.
The statements were made at lunch with entrepreneurs promoted by Casa Parliament, arm of political articulation of the Brazil Sphere. In addition to the lack of clear development plan, the senator also cited the absence of managers to conduct important Planalto programs as an obstacle.
Asked about whether environmental licensing would be crashing investments in the country, Renan replied that Lula 3’s biggest mistake was to appoint to the Ministry of Environment, which he called the country’s point of view setback.
“It is lost time to wait for the solution of Minister Marina. This will not be recovered in the future. Congress can help. We present to President Lula a solution, which is the president of the Senate to designate a rapporteur to systematize the subjects that are in process, to make the licensing, which takes into account the need for these investments,” he said.
Renan, however, stressed that although the government faces difficulties, Lula is a strong candidate in reelection.
“The assessment of the president tends to improve, and can still do a lot until the election. It will be very difficult to defeat President Lula,” said the senator, who still sees difficulty from the right to unify around a name.
The senator added that the candidate with the highest voting potential would be the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans). “I understand that the governor will not go to an electoral adventure. If there is any possibility that he does not choose [presidente]it will prefer to be a candidate for reelection in the state, “he said.
At lunch, Renan also defended his resolution project that gives the federal government 15 years to limit the consolidated debt of the Union to a maximum of four times the net current revenue – in 2024, this relationship was about seven times.
