Dodik faces a warranty and punishment for not respecting the UN High Representatives for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Bosnian State Police of the Sipa tried to arrest the leader of the Bosnian Serbs and the President of the Republic of Serbia (RS) Milorad Dodika, who was issued in March. However, the police have stopped the units of the Ministry of the Interior of the RS and prevented the arrest, TASR writes, according to the report of Reuters and AFP.

Dodik was sentenced to a year of imprisonment in February and a six -year prohibition of political activity for disregarding the UN High Representatives for Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bah) Christian Schmidt. He supervises the adherence to the Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the war in Bosnia in the 1990s.

Dodika issued a Bosnian judiciary of 18 March. Nevertheless, Dodik continued his activities and traveled in the region and abroad. On Wednesday came to the city of East Sarajevo, where he was found by the Bosnian state police.

“SIPA members have tried to fulfill the order of the court today and arrest the President of the RS Milorad Dodika in East Sarajevo … They talked to the RS police units to warn them to use their strength, and thus prevented them from performing the order,” said spokeswoman for Bosnian police for Jelena Miovčová.

Shortly after the incident, Dodik organized a press conference and accused the SIPA of the violation of the law. “I don’t intend to leave this building under pressure … Those from SIPA are trying to show that they can do something. I think they will show they can’t do anything,” he said.
