Long time at screens, air conditioners, low humidity in rooms and increasing air pollution in cities – all of these factors significantly increase the risk of drying out the surface of the eye and balance the natural layer of tears. This, according to the specialist, leads to more frequent irritations, discomfort and can eventually affect vision quality.
“A very large part of the public is facing dry eyes. The eyes are covered with a thin layer of tear film, which performs important functions: protects against infections, moisturizes the cornea, provides it with nutrients and helps ensure smooth vision. The eyes become more sensitive and less resistant to harmful environmental factors. Signs show that the eyes are lacking in moisture and protection, ”says a doctor of medical sciences.

Ligeikate adds, scientists have estimated that the inhabitants of Western countries receive only about 1.5 mg of lutein per day with food.
