The Meme $ Trump currency website said the 220 largest holders of digital assets will be invited to a private dinner with the president at Trump National Golf Club, near Washington. The 25 largest meme coins holders will be invited to a reception before dinner and a tour of the White House.
Dinner scheduled for May 22 is the latest challenging movement of Trump’s norms, mixing politics with creation of personal wealth. Once skeptical of cryptocurrencies, Trump strongly courted the sector, while his family acted aggressively to build a cryptocurrency business empire.
President and first lady Melania Trump launched meme coins-a kind of unkiced digital collectible item-just before taking office earlier this year. The initiative was criticized for being an undecided way to raise money, which impairs the effort to legitimize digital assets.
