China allegedly discreetly reversed 125% retaliatory tariffs on semiconductors manufactured in the United States, according to details provided to CNN This Friday (25) by three import agencies at the Shenzhen technological hub in the south of the country.
Exemptions apply to integrated circuits such as microchips or semiconductors, according to import agencies. They learned of the exemptions, which were not officially announced on Thursday (24).
On April 12, China increased its for all US products, in response to the US president’s decision, to raise taxes on Chinese products to 145%.
For months, Beijing has been projecting strength and confidence in his ability to resist one with the US. But these exemptions suggest that the country needs to reverse some taxes on crucial items that cannot manufacture internally or obtain elsewhere.
Chinese authorities did not confirm exemptions publicly. The general administration of customs and customs in Shenzhen claimed to be unaware of the exemptions.
