A police chase resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of a luxury vehicle, a BMW X4, which had been stolen hours earlier, on the night of last Thursday (24), on Avenida dos Bandeirantes, Santana neighborhood, in São Paulo. The car is valued between R $ 415 thousand and R $ 650 thousand.
The Military Police reported that they received a vehicle theft alert that occurred in a parking lot in the region. Security cameras recorded the moment when the man left the place with the car. See below:
The owner of the car tracked the vehicle and provided the location in real time, allowing the police teams to surround the area.
The stolen vehicle was located in motion, starting a persecution that extended to the Maria Maluf road complex. During the escape, the criminal collided with other cars, trying to force the passage.
Strialed, the suspect, identified as Thiago Santos, 38, abandoned BMW and tried to escape on foot, jumping from a hill of approximately five meters.
In the fall, the man suffered a fracture in his left ankle and was referred to the Ipiranga Hospital, where he remains in police custody for treatment and subsequent surgery.
The suspect confessed to the intention of taking the vehicle to a breakdown in the east of the state capital. The case was registered in the 26th Police District.
