The President of the French Professional Football League (LFP), Vincent Labrune, was denounced by public homophobic insult, following an instagram publication of the entity that reproduced a homophobic song of Saint-Etienne fans, announced on Friday (25) the Stop Homophobie Association to AFP.
The association announced that it will submit its complaint in Paris this Friday against Labrune, identified as director of publication of the LFP account on Instagram.
“Vincent Labrune is not being denounced as a person, but as director of LFP publications. To avoid any confusion, he will present accusations of slander and defamation against anyone who associates his name with homophobia,” the executive said through representatives.
Stop homophobie states that the official Instagram account of Ligue 1 released on Saturday (19) a video announcing the classic between Saint-Etienne and Lyon, which was played on Sunday (20), and that one could hear “a song of fans (…) homophobic: oh, liones, bunch of fisters”.
The association also notes that the same song was heard in the stands during Sunday’s match, “without any reaction” of the organizers.
