Donald Trump criticized Vladimir Putin on Thursday, 24, after a Russian attack killed 12 people in Kiev. “Vladimir, stop!” Posted the American on his social network. Despite the reprimand, he did not change the US proposal to a peace agreement, which includes recognition of Russia’s annexation and the delivery of other territories, something that Ukrainian President Volodmir Zelenski said it was unacceptable.

Trump’s unusual criticism of Putin, however, does not mean a change of direction. Shortly thereafter, during a meeting with Norway’s prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere in the White House, the US president was pressured by journalists to say what Russia could give in to the US. “End the war,” said Trump. “Not taking Ukraine is already a great concession.”

Zelenski interrupted a trip to South Africa due to yesterday’s attacks. “It has been 44 days since Ukraine agreed with a total ceasefire and the interruption of the attacks. And it’s been 44 days since Russia continued to kill our people,” said the Ukrainian President.

“The attacks must be interrupted immediately and unconditionally.”

Yesterday’s bombing Kiev was the biggest and most deadly since July last year. Two children were among the dead and at least 90 people were injured. Russia also made attacks on the cities of Kharkiv and Pavlohrad yesterday.

In the early hours of the morning, Kiev was hit by waves of drone, ballistic missiles and guided. Explosions shook buildings and made more than 16,000 people in the subway stations. When the sun was born, clouds of smoke covered the capital.

Kiev mayor Vitali Klitschko said rescue teams had found a survivor among the rubble and recovered three bodies. Zelenski reported that two of the victims were a brother and a sister – Nikita, 21, and Sofia, 19. Among the injured were six children and a pregnant woman.

According to Zelenski, Russia fired North Korean missiles KN-23. One of them exploded against an apartment building in the Sviatoshinski neighborhood in the capital of Ukraine. Video images showed the missile diving in the building, followed by a huge explosion and a crash.

Dissatisfied

Ukraine’s interior minister Ihor Klimenko ordered a rescue operation at the attack site, involving dogs and rescuers. “Cell phones can be heard by playing under the ruins. The search will continue until all are removed. We have information that two children are missing,” he said.

Trump reacted to Russian bombings: “I’m not happy with the attacks on Kiev. It’s not necessary. The moment is very bad. Vladimir, stop! Five thousand soldiers are dying a week. Let’s close a peace agreement!” The day before, however, he had criticized Zelenski for not supporting the American proposal, considered favorable to Russia.

Constitution

Trump accused Zelenski of prolonging the suffering of Ukrainians and making “very harmful” statements to ceasefire. The president of Ukraine said that recognizing Crimea as Russian and assigning territories to the Russians would violate the Ukrainian Constitution. He defends a truce before any agreement can be negotiated.
