Proof of this is the refusal of Federal Deputy Pedro Lucas in accepting the Ministry of Communications; worse, he accepted and then back, causing great embarrassment to the government
In other times, it would be well coveted by any political party. Having command of a ministry meant access to resources, showcase and power. Positions granting was a valuable currency between Planalto and Congress in what became known as “Take there”.
If in the past there was this greed; Today the situation is quite different. Proof of this is the refusal of the federal deputy to accept the Ministry of Communications. Worse, he accepted at first, and then turning back, causing great embarrassment to the government.
The refusal of the deputy basically took place from a political calculation: not displeasing the wing of the opposite of the executive and not allying with a government whose popularity is low. As the parliamentarian thinks of his reelection, he understood that the return did not compensate the risk.
By the way, what would the deputy have to lose? In the past, a lot of money. But currently, with at least $ 30 million amendments per deputy (from Alto Clergy, the figure is higher), remaining parliamentary and increasing the chances of reelection makes perfect sense.
