Health will incorporate herpes -zoster vaccine into the SUS – 25/04/2025 – Panel

The Ministry of Health began the incorporation of the vaccine against, a disease also known as the coat, to the (Unified Health System). The process is expected to be completed next year, according to technicians from the folder.

The process of incorporation into the SUS is long and requires analysis by Conitec (National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies in SUS), an organ that gives a favorable opinion or not.

The matter was dealt with by the minister (health) with federal deputy Adriana Accorsi (PT-GO), at a hearing held on Tuesday night (22). The parliamentarian was admitted to the disease in March this year and was hospitalized five days.

Currently, the vaccine is available on the private network and is expensive (both doses can cost about $ 2,000).

“You can be sure that it is our priority as a health minister that this vaccine may be in the Unified Health System. We can do great vaccination campaigns for people who are indicated to receive this vaccine,” the minister said at the hearing.

In a statement, the ministry said it referred to Conitec request evaluation to include the herpes-zoster vaccine in SUS and awaits technical opinion.

“The incorporation of a new vaccine into the SUS involves several steps, such as the identification of demand, technical-scientific analysis, feasibility assessment and covenant between the three management spheres: Union, states and municipalities,” he said.
