A huge occurred on Saturday at the port of Badar Abbas, as the country’s authorities announced, killing five people and injuring over 500.

The causes of the explosion, however, remain unknown.
Iran’s customs authority said in a statement that the explosion occurred in the Sinai containers warehouse, which belongs to the Port and Shipping Organization of Iran.

The port of Rajai mainly manages container freight transport and also has oil tanks and other petrochemical installations.
The explosion hit port offices and its intensity was such that it caused a weak earthquake felt in nearby cities, according to Tasnim agency. The explosion also broke the windows of buildings several kilometers from the site of the incident.
The fire groups worked to extinguish the fire caused by the explosion.
