Pope Francis’ coffin arrives at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maior

Pope Francis’ coffin returned to St. Peter’s Basilica on Saturday (26), after a mass in his honor with the presence of over 250,000 people, according to the Vatican, and dozens of international dignitaries. The public in St. Peter’s Square exploded in applause when the coffin porters raised him. Francisco’s body will be transported in a white jeep to the Santa Maria Maior Basilica in Rome, where he will be buried in the afternoon.
