The Directorate of and the UGT and CCOO unions have not reached an agreement for the renewal of the collective agreement, so it is maintained, both parties report in two communications. “The social part, represented by UGT and CCOO, deeply regrets that the fifth mediation meeting with the company has concluded without agreement,” the unions point out.
“Despite the efforts made by the workers’ representatives to reach an understanding and unlock the negotiation, the company continues without satisfactorily attending the needs of the workforce,” the unions point out after the meeting held this Friday until midnight.
For his part, Fernando Aldecoa, general director of Portaventura World, points out that the company “has been very constructive throughout the negotiation process, making a significant effort to reach an agreement that benefits all parties.” “However,” we add, “we regret that the immobilist posture we have found has hindered progress. Despite this, we stay optimistic.”
The unions say that during the mediation they have made “a series of constructive proposals” and have accepted “part of the points raised by the company”, but “the lack of real commitment by the company to apply the agreement immediately has prevented a satisfactory understanding for both parties that allows to distrust the strike”.
According to CCOO and UGT, among the points of disagreement are “the need for a salary update that compensates for the loss of purchasing power of workers” or “measures to lighten their workload with the aim of compensating their contribution, which has been fundamental for the success of Portaventura.”
However, the Directorate of the Leisure Complex of Salou and Vila-Seca (Tarragona) argues that it has shown “flexibility in key issues for workers, such as salary improvements, reduction of workload and increased labor stability”, but “all proposals have been rejected.”
Portaveventura considers that the call for a second strike on May 1 and 2 is not only detrimental to the company, customers, suppliers, but also for the employees themselves, and affirms that the park will open during those days with “the attractions, stores, restaurants and shows that are possible”.
With a follow -up of 80 % of the workforce and, in addition, Portaveventura that had planned for Monday, April 28.
