The coalition CIS appreciates the promise of Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) that he is willing and open to discuss the change in transaction tax. It is willing to submit a summary system of measures to the Coalition Council to adjust or abolish the transaction tax in its entirety. TASR informed the CIS spokeswoman Zuzana Škopcová.
“The declaration of the Prime Minister confirms us that the CIS steps in relation to the transaction tax were correct,” Skopcová said. She recalled that the party filed a proposal to the National Council of the Slovak Republic on the basis of which Small companies with a turnover of up to EUR 100,000 and sole traders will not pay a transaction tax. At the same time, it is open that the Ministry of Finance or Smer-SD propose a modification of a transaction tax to the extent that does not violate the international obligations of the Slovak Republic in relation to freedom of business.
At the same time, the CIS pointed out that it is necessary to eliminate discrimination in connection with the transaction tax. “Secondly, It is unimaginable for entrepreneurs to pay the transaction tax on the specified payments according to the law or the payment of wages, ” he claims.
According to the CIS, the state has a sufficient number of tools and tax mechanisms to supplement the transaction tax failure. “We believe that they will support the proposal of the Slovak National Party at the next meeting of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Smer-SD, as well as the voice-SD,” added Škopcová.
