Bakery sector revenues reached R $ 153.3 billion by 2024, an increase of 10.9% over the previous year. The data are from Ideal (Institute for the Development of Food Companies).
According to the (Brazilian Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry), the result is linked to the increase in the flow of clients in bakeries, which grew about 4.57% last year.
“The bakery became the place for quick meals, meetings and even work meetings. We reached fantastic growth, as it was almost 4 times higher than last year’s performance [2023] and reinforces how much the bakery resumed its positioning as a versatile service space ”said Emerson Amaral of ABIP.
The northern region led the industry’s revenue growth in 2024, with an increase of 16.3%. The Southeast, the region where the largest number of companies are concentrated, grew 8.8%.
The city of São Paulo remained the capital with the largest number of establishments (21,358), followed by Rio de Janeiro (12,191), Belo Horizonte (4,809), Brasilia (4,723) and Salvador (4,005).
