The defense of the former president, arrested for passive corruption and money laundering, again called for house arrest for him on Saturday (26), and presented a new medical report alleging the need for medical follow-up and medication.

However, at the custody hearing on Friday (25), they have no disease and do not use medicine continuously, contradicting their lawyers.

“Contrary to what has been reported in the press in recent hours, the petitioner proves, from a medical report prepared by expert who has been with him for years – and who, in fact, has a technical capacity to certify that factual situation – who is affected and in treatment of serious comorbidities of ‘Parkinson’s disease, severe sleep apnea and bipolar affective disorder,'” said the lawyers in the new request.

The defense did not explain why Collor mentioned no diseases or needing medication. The former president was arrested last Friday in Maceió (AL), where he will serve the penalty.

The document, addressed to the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court, who ordered the arrest of the former president, also again mentioning the advanced age of Collor, 75, as a factor of reinforcing the request for house arrest.

The new report reiterates the diagnoses of Parkinson, severe sleep apnea and bipolar affective disorder, previously presented. According to the doctor Rogério Tuma, who signs the document, Collor is treated against Parkinson, and that the interruption of drugs could aggravate the picture.

“Although currently well controlled the patient’s Parkinson’s disease is progressive, and can get worse without proper use of prescribed medication and CPAP, it also requires periodic clinical control,” he says.

CPAP is the acronym for continuous positive airway pressure, a medical device used to treat sleep apnea. In the report, Tuma claims to be chronic comorbidity and risk factor of cardiovascular and neurodegenerative disease, which would require daily use of electrical equipment.

Collor. He was accused of receiving bribes from a scheme from BR Distribuidora, a subsidiary company of Petrobras, in a criminal action derived from. Proofs found in the donor’s office in addition to testimonials from employees of the operation, were used as evidence in the action.
