The Israelite army had already ordered the evacuation of buildings in Dahye, a suburb in southern Beirut, considered a bastion of the Shiite Lebanese group Hezbollah.
Israeli Prime Minister’s office, Benjamin Netanyahu, reveals in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli army hit a Hezbollah’s “Precision missile” warehouse in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
“Under the instructions of Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, the army harshly attacked a warehouse in Beirut where Hezbollah had stored accuracy missiles, representing a significant threat to the state of Israel,” the statement cited by Agence France-Presse.
In the same text it can be read that Israel “will not allow” that Hezbollah “gains strength or represents any threat from anywhere in Lebanon.”
Army spokesman Avichay Adraee reported on social networks that the storage of missiles in the targeted infrastructure is a “blatant violation of understandings between Israel and Lebanon and a threat to the state of Israel and their citizens.”
Isreal had already ordered evacuation
The Israelite army had already ordered the evacuation of buildings in Dahye, a suburb in southern Beirut, considered a bastion of the Shiite Lebanese group Hezbollah.
“Urgent warning to Dahye’s residents in Beirut: Anyone located in the red building on the map and adjacent buildings in the Al Hadath neighborhood is close to Hezbollah facilities,” the Army spokesman said in Arabic in a message on social networks.
The message said that residents should be at least 300 meters away From the buildings and was accompanied by an air photograph of the area with a red building.
Dahye was the target of several attacks at the end of 2024
Israeli aviation made intense bombing against Dahye in September, October and November last year, on a climb against Hezbollah that eliminated its leadership, including its longstanding leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Since then, and despite Israeli attacks if they have become less frequent after the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon last November, Israel has occasionally attacked the area with the argument that the Shiite group is trying to restore their presence.
Israelite forces attacked suburbs from southern Beirut in early April, killing at least four people.
