The PCP Secretary General argues that the PS electoral program is just a set of beautiful proclamations and phrases. In an interview with Lusa, Paulo Raimundo underlines that socialists’ proposals should go further.
The PCP secretary-general warns that the PS is going opposite the breakdown that their party requires for a left-hand agreement, considering that your program does not respond to the majority’s problems.
The PS’s electoral program “It won’t be absolutely certain in the sense of rupture, it won’t be able to respond to the major problems that are put to most of our people.”warns Paulo Raimundo in an interview with Lusa agency under the May 18 legislative elections.
The PCP leader considers that the PS program has “Many proclamations, many well -written, beautiful, elaborate sentences”but in concrete, there is no major differences from the PSD.
“Perhaps the most illustrative example is that the difference between the PS and the PSD in the national minimum wage is 10 euros in 2029. We need to increase wages now, which is now necessary to pay the rent, the benefits, face the increase in cost of living.
The PCP, in its electoral program, defends the MINIMUM SALARY FIXING IN THE 1,000 EURS IN MILo apensions at 5%, with a minimum of 70 euros, allocate 1% of GDP for public housing, Value careers in the NHS e Create a public network of day care centers.
“This is not a red line problem”
Asked what measures do you see as red and priority lines for an agreement on the left after the elections, Raimundo replies that they are all that he pointed out, besides the end of the “IRC’s low scandal for large companies”.
“This is not a red line problem. This is a problem with whether or not there is a program to respond to people’s problems“, says Raimundo, reinforcing that, for his party, the red line will be “Whether or not there is response to most of the Portuguese people, youth and those who work and worked a lifetime.”
“This is our Red Line. From the moment there is an answer, we are available for everything and consider – we have this boldness – that we have a program that responds to these needs. It was good that others came to our program,” he said.
Interrogated if the PCP is then available for any assignment in its program even if it is not the main force on the left, Raimundo replies that the story shows that his party never failed to “No measure” for the improvement of the living conditions of the majority.
