Polyamoria (from the Greek polys = many and Latin amor = love) It is ethical, philosophical and practical orientation to maintain several contemporary, consensual and transparent romantic and/or sexual relationships. Unlike the traditionally mononormative model, which emphasizes the exclusivity and two partners, polyamoria assumes the possibility of the existence of several significant relationships with respect, consent and emotional sincerity of all stakeholders.
Polyamoria is not the same as promiscuity, open relationship or cheating. The difference is Aware of, ethical and consensual approach to non -specific relationships. Many polyamoric people create long -term, stable and deeply engaged partner ties.
The essence of polyamoria is not only the presence of several relationships, but especially:
• ethical framework: Relationships are based on values as honesty, trust, respect, communication and consent;
• Emotional component: Polyamoria includes real emotional and romantic bonds, not only physical intimacy;
• NEMORATIVE STUCTURE: Polyamoria is not defined by one model (eg “primary-second-second relationships”), but there is a wide range of forms how relationships can be organized (hierarchical, non-transparent, solopolyamor, relationship anarchy, etc.);
• Reflection of power and equality: It often includes criticism of traditional relationship standards that can be based on the ownership or control of a partner.
