From freezer A, quite possibly, the bin. That is the route that, in the light of, awaits the pact to enter the socialist government of the Catalan capital. The candidacy close to critics with the National Directorate of the party and that disdain that agreement was imposed in the vote last Saturday and the new president, Creu Camacho, insisted this Sunday that his plan is that the militancy can say his own on that pact “before summer.”
“We will fulfill what we have said: we will begin to plan the Congress before the summer, we will talk to the municipal group for, how it has evolved, present it and that the militancy decides,” Camacho explained in attention to journalists, after his enthronement as a new head of ranks at the Cotxeres Cotxeres Civic Center. His candidacy, Republican Dignitat, won with 338 votes against 324 from Endavant, Barcelona!
The loser candidacy was led by the now president of the largest federation of the party, Eva Baró, also councilor in the City Council. She and Elisenda Alamany, current number two From Oriol Junqueras and leader of the municipal group in the Catalan capital, they had negotiated the pact with Collboni last year. The other, which had the support of, had as head of the list to Camacho, who was clear in his opposition to enter the municipal executive. Some voices point, showing the difference between guarantees and votes, to an excess of pressures to endorse Baró, which were later charged with the secret support of the vote to Camacho.
The campaign battle horse on the list of Camacho and Miquel Colomé (their number two) was to criticize that those of Baró would postpone sine the the vote of the pact they had reached with the socialists. The decision of the former leadership was argued by the will to separate that consultation from the
“We have everyone, we know that we are not alone,” said the brand new president of the Federation, implying that at least negotiated a possible integration of those defeated in their executive. The municipal group, which has five councilors, has been divided: three supported Endavant, Barcelona! and two to the republican dignitat winners.
Sources of the National Directorate minimize the defeat suffered by the candidacy that blessed both Junqueras and Alamany and blame the result more to the “microclimate” of the party in the Catalan capital than to a critique of the dome that leads the former vice president. These are different eleven casales, with personalities and sensibilities on many occasions faced. In fact, that only 14 votes will separate Republican Dignitat from Endavant, Barcelona! It is not an isolated fact. Less than two years ago, in the same Congress of Barcelona, the difference between the two lists in Liza was only 25 support.
There are few voices that believe that, in full Ecuador of the mandate, it does not make much sense to enter the government of the Barcelona City Council. But beyond that, in Republican Dignitat they defend a certain “moral” obligation to vote on the agreement and close an episode where, they allege, the militancy despised. Several questions remain on the table. First, if the PSC, in a minority in the town hall, is now to allow the entry of an ERC that does not allow it to reach the absolute majority. On the other, what will happen to the commitments between both formations, beyond entering the Executive.
Camacho, in addition, has committed to the fact that in the coming weeks the committee to begin preparing the candidacy for the 2027 elections will be launched. ERC will approve in its National Council of June the calendar to choose candidates.
