Brazil ended on Saturday (26) the individual dispute of the Pan American and Oceania Championship of 2025, in Santiago, in the leadership of the general board. With a historic campaign, the Brazilian team won 16 medals in total: nine gold, three silver and four bronze. Among the highlights of the day, the Olympic champion secured the title in the category above 78 kg by beating New Zealand Sydnee Andrews. The Brazilian judoka won two of its three IPPon fights, confirming favoritism.

In the male, Brazil also shone. Gabriel Falcão (up to 81 kg), Rafael Macedo (up to 90 kg) and Leonardo Gonçalves (up to 100 kg) were champions in their categories. Falcão won four fighting, two of them by IPPon. Macedo won all his wins by the maximum score, while Gonçalves surpassed Dominican Robert Florentino with a waza-ari in the final.

Other Brazilians also climbed the podium: Luana Carvalho (bronze up to 70 kg), Luan Almeida (bronze up to 81 kg) and Rafael Buzacarini (silver over 100 kg). In the female, Shirlen Nascimento (gold up to 57 kg), Natasha Ferreira (gold up to 48 kg), Nauana Silva (gold) and Bianca Reis (bronze up to 57 kg) also won medals, as well as Jessica Pereira, who got silver up to 52 kg.

Brazil was off the podium in just one category on the second day of disputes, in the female up to 78 kg. The competition continues on Sunday (27), with the dispute for mixed teams. Only four countries participate in the final phase: Brazil, Chile, Cuba and Peru.
