The federal government signed on the afternoon of Monday, 28, concession contracts with the companies winning of lots of lots 3 and 6 of Highways of Paraná. Together, the lots cover 1,231 km of federal and state highways.
With 30 years, contracts foresee investments that total R $ 36 billion. Both lots are part of a set of six projects formulated after an agreement between federal management and the government of Paraná.
Lot 3, won by CCR (Motiva), provides for an investment of about R $ 16 billion in 569.7 km. The concession includes excerpts from BRS 369, 373 and 376, as well as excerpts from PRS 090, 170 323 and 445.
Lot 6 of the PR Consortium PR provides for an investment of R $ 20.11 billion for works and improvements at 662.1 km of highways. The lot contemplates excerpts from BRs 163 and 277 and PRS 158, 182, 280 and 483.
Despite the initial provision, the signature ceremony was not attended by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. At the event, in addition to the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, were the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior (PSD), and the Minister of Institutional Relations, Gleisi Hoffmann.
Minister Renan Filho said that the partnership with the government of Paraná, “regardless of political issues, will boost the economy in various areas, from tourism to industry.” He argued that “who pays maintenance and investment on highways is the poorest, with the highest taxation of consumption.” This logic will change, according to the minister, from the tax reform.

The governor of Paraná also praised the joint work. Ratinho pointed out that the projects reformulated concessions that, in recent decades, were seen with suspicion by the population of Paraná due to the high toll costs and low investment in improvements. “Paraná had a concession trauma, which had not been fair.”
The Federal Government Highway Concession Portfolio provides for the auction of 12 other projects for this year. Among them are lots 4 and 5 of Paraná highways, which should be played in September.
