Kira Salim, 34, was one in one mass during a street festival in Vancouver, Canada, on Sunday (27.br.2025). The driver, Kai-ji Adam Lo, 30, was arrested and, according to police, has a history of occurrences linked to “Mental Health Problems”.
Kira had lived in Canada since August 2022. Born in Rio de Janeiro, daughter of Argentina mother and gaucho father, she identified herself as a non-binary person and was a defender of the LGBTQia+cause.
According to family members cited by she arrived in Canada with her husband, a dog rescued in Brazil and 5 cats.
The Brazilian worked as a school counselor at Fraser River Middle School in the city of New Westminster. According to her profile, she graduated in music at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) in 2014 and had a master’s degree in psychological intervention in development and education completed in 2021 at.
Before working at school in New Westminster, Kira worked as a teacher at another high school in Canada and was a music teacher at Rio de Janeiro.
“My personal mission is to facilitate and guide marginalized young people and communities to prosper in their lives, creating a diverse and equitable environment that stimulates different strengths and personalities”Kira wrote on his profile.
According to the Kira was one of the founders of the block in Rio. At Carnival Carioca, the block brings together cosplayers and people dressed as cartoon characters, movies and comics.
In a farewell video published in the block’s profile before moving, Kira celebrated the fact that Canada was a country with a strong presence of Asian communities and anime culture.
