More than half of discounts on benefits had not been authorized by Brazilians
An audit by the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) in September 2024 analyzed complaints regarding associative discounts on the social security benefit payroll. The INSS report said a “high financial materiality of the work process”. The transfers of associative discounts were from R $ 3.07 billion from January 2023 to May 2024. According to the INSS, there was a significant amount of beneficiaries who made financial transfer to the entities in the period: 7.69 million Brazilians.
