Lula government starts delivery more than 4,000 basic baskets to family farmers affected by floods in Acre

The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA) and the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Fighting (MDS), began on Monday (28) the delivery of more than 4,000 basic baskets to Family Farmers affected by floods in various municipalities of Acre.

The action is carried out in partnership with the National Supply Company (Conab), the State Secretariat of Agriculture (Seagri) to the Federation of Rural Workers, Farmers and Farmers of the State of Acre (Fetacre) and the Rural Workers Unions (STRS).

The first delivery took place in the Liberdade Community, in the branch of Usina, rural Rio Branco, benefiting families that faced the impacts of the floods. The distribution will follow in the coming days, reaching other state communities and reaffirming the commitment of President Lula’s government to family farming and the reconstruction of lives.

Present in the action were the Superintendent of MDA, Cesário Braga, Conab in Acre, Alessandra Ferraz; Conab’s director of operations in the state, André Marques; the president of Rio Branco STTR, Dona Elza; and the leaders of Fetacre, Paulo Brasil and Raimundinho.

The MDA Superintendent in Acre highlighted the importance of the moment:
“This surrender symbolizes President Lula’s commitment to the Acre people. The president never stopped looking lovingly at our state and, through MDA, MDS and Conab, reinforces that family farmers are not alone. We will follow firm, ensuring dignity and support for those who feed Brazil.”

Emergency support work has the leadership of Minister Wellington Dias (MDS), the National Secretary of Food and Nutrition Security, Lilian Rahal, and the Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira, who have given special attention to the families of Acre.

The baskets delivered are composed of basic foods and ensure food safety for the families of the countryside.
