Only 39% of Americans say they approve the republican government, which completes on the 3rd (29.abr)
The government of Donald Trump (Republican Party) has the worst approval rate at 100 days in 80 years of the historical series. According to research data done by the Ipsos Institute and released by the ABC News and the Washington Postonly 38% of Americans approve the work of the Republican. The government completes 100 days on Tuesday (29.abr.2025).
Earlier, a Harry Truman (Democratic Party )’s worst approval mark of a president was in 1945. In his 1st government in 2017, Trump reached 42% approval in the same period.
The number represents a drop of 6 percentage points compared to February. Furthermore, 55% of respondents said they disapprove of Trump administration.
Ipsos interviewed 2,464 adults through an online questionnaire applied from 18 to 22 April in English and Spanish. The margin of error is 2 percentage points for more or less. Read to of the research, in English (PDF – 514 KB).
The economy is the theme in which Trump has the worst evaluation: 61% disapprove of his work in the area. Republican also has high disapproval rates in conducting relations with other countries (61%), import tariffs (64%) and in “Recent turbulence in the stock market” (67%).
Recession Risk
The feeling of uncertainty is also reflected in the perception of the financial market. According to the survey, 72% of Americans believe it is “likely” that Trump’s policies cause a short -term recession.
Trump’s actions
Negative evaluations go beyond the economy. According to the survey, 65% of respondents said the Trump government avoids complying with federal court orders, and 64% said he is going “Too far away” trying “Expand its presidential power”. There are still 62% who believe he does not respect the rule of law.
