A major blackouts from the power grid affects Portugal, Spain, and other European countries on the morning of Monday. The Spanish generator redelectricly reported on Monday (28) that the Iberian Peninsula was affected. The company said the incident is being evaluated and will be treated.
According to shared reports on social networks, the failure also affects countries such as Italy, France, Poland and Finland.
It is rare to occur such a broad energy interruption in the Iberian Peninsula. Countries have a combined population of more than 50 million people. It was not immediately clear how many people were affected.
Spanish public broadcaster RTVE said that a large power outage has reached several regions of the country around 12:30 pm local time, leaving its writing, the Spanish parliament in Madrid and subway stations across the country. People in WhatsApp chats in Barcelona and in the periphery cities and towns also reported the lack of energy.
According to local newspapers, it also hits telephone lines and traffic lights. At airports, shipments are being made “old-fashioned” and manually check-in.

The Spanish concessionaire Red Electrical confirmed the failure in the country. Plans of replacement of electricity supply were activated in collaboration with companies in the sector. “The causes are being analyzed and all resources are being mobilized to solve the problem,” the company said.
In the country, Blecaut affected several cities such as Madrid, Seville, Granada, Malaga and Cadiz.
