A shooting on Tuesday in the city of Uppsala, located 70 kilometers northwest of Stockholm (Sweden), has left at least three people dead and several injured, as confirmed by the police. “Three people have died as a result of the shooting. The incident is being investigated as a possible homicide,” says the authorities’ statement.
Minutes before, they pointed out that “several people have been found with injuries that indicate that there has been a shooting”, without more details of what happened are known at the moment. At the same time, they added that the main suspect has fled and are trying to find their whereabouts with a device that includes helicopters.
The area where the events have occurred is cordoned off by the Police, which has opened an investigation to clarify what happened. According to some Swedish media, face -to -face witnesses have heard between seven and nine shots and the shooting occurred next to a hairdresser. In addition, rail traffic has been interrupted for about an hour.
